POST SURGERY
Normally vision is quite reasonable the next morning and it will continue to improve over the next week. Most normal activities can be resumed immediately but remember that the flap is not secure for some time.
For safety swimming should be avoided for two weeks, rubbing your eyes should be avoided and any situation where the eye could be potentially knocked (eg. contact sports) should also be avoided for
4-6 weeks.
Eyedrops are generally used for at least two weeks to assist the eye to heal and to prevent infection. It is not uncommon for the eye to feel a little dry and irritable for a few months afterwards and during this time a lubricant eyedrop can be used for comfort.
